‘ONE OF OUR OWN’

The Village of Solomon advocacy efforts is bringing you a short fiction film for the upcoming annual MMIWG event to be hosted in Nome, Alaska on the nationally recognized Missing and Murdered Indigenous People’s Day- May 5th.

Event details are attached on this flier. Please come support our advocacy awareness efforts around such an important issue that impacts us all. It has been an incredible experience to bring this storyline to life with an amazing production crew, full support from the VOS Council and all the support from our tribal community because we all know the issues around MMIWG.

We hope this film will bring the visual and emotional awareness, a film to share in spreading the message, and most of all, a film to assist in GENERATING CHANGE and mitigating the MMIP statistics so we can keep our communities safer. This film was written for advocacy, using inspired like events to provide a visual inside look of what families and friends experience, how easily these types of events and stories occur which creates true community trauma- which has led Solomon to become such strong advocates.

Produced, edited, cinematography - all done by https://www.alaskanfilms.com/ ‘Wáats’asdiye Joe Yates
